A Little Place in the Country...

[hide description] [show description]

Since I began at Source in January 2008, I had been commuting the full distance from Broseley, Telford, every morning and night.

As I don't drive (yet), this meant an hour and a half trip each way - two buses and a 20 minute walk to the bus stop!

This lifestyle dragging myself

After six months of this lifestyle, dragging myself out of bed at 6.30 every morning, I got tired (literally and figuratively) and resolved to move out to my own place. I'd have to rent, but in the current climate, I wasn't too worried.

I had lived away from home during my stint at the University of Bradford, but this would be the first time I was truly out on my own - just me and the missus, my long time girlfriend Lyndsay, who would be moving all the way from Sunderland!

Front door of course

After a long wait (3 months for my landlord to get his act together and finish the place we were supposed to be living in!) we finally moved in December 2008. What I hadn't banked on was how close my new house would be to work - where 3 hours of my day were spent traveling to and from Source, now I have a 20 second walk across the road to the front door!

Of course, come snow, storms, torrential rain or meteor strike, I now have no excuses for being late to work.
